DSLR Photography Level 1

photography classesThis three-hour DSLR Photography Level 1 class is aimed at taking the guesswork out of your digital SLR (DSLR) camera. Focusing on everything from the setup of the initial shoot to how to load your pictures onto your computer, this course will help you take better photos.

Students should expect to work closely with an instructor on modern digital photography techniques and how to get the most out of your equipment.

Performance-Based Objectives
Upon successful completion of this DSLR Photography Level 1 class, students will be able to:

  • Take quality digital photograghs with a DSLR camera
  • Work with shutter speed, aperture, and ISO
  • Know when/why to change lenses
  • Import pictures from a DSLR and/or hard drives onto a computer

Pre-requisite: None

What to Bring
Students are encouraged to bring their own DSLR camera to the class for hands-on application of the topics covered. Support hardware such as lenses, manuals, compact Flash card, compact Flash card reader, or your camera manual may also be beneficial but not required.

Every DSLR camera differs slightly in where the settings and controls are located. It is likely that the instructor will not be able to review each individual DSLR camera. If you recently purchased your camera, we recommend you familiarize yourself with the settings and controls before the start of class.
