Microsoft Power BI Advanced (Level 3)

Everyone can see the dashboard. That is now the problem.

Adoption creates the next problem. The dashboard everyone wanted is now used by three departments, one of which should not see the other two's numbers. It is slow. There are four versions and nobody knows which is right.

This workshop is about running Power BI as infrastructure rather than a project. Row-level security so the right people see the right rows. Optimization so it stays usable at volume. Governance so the organization has one answer rather than four.

Analytics leads and BI teams use this where Power BI is business critical and the failure modes have become organizational rather than technical. It also covers current Copilot and Fabric integration, which is changing what these tools do and is worth understanding before deciding whether to adopt it.

Content, datasets, and examples are built around your actual work before delivery. Most groups train live online, and on-site in-person delivery is available by request. This workshop is available by request only, with a three participant minimum, and sits alongside our other data analytics and data literacy workshops.

This course includes

  • Live, instructor led workshop delivered across four sessions
  • Row-level security implemented and tested on your own model
  • Performance optimization on a report that is genuinely slow
  • Governance, deployment, and current Copilot and Fabric integration
  • Digital learning materials and take home reference guides
  • Certificate of completion for every participant

Description

The first sessions are security and performance. Participants implement row-level security so a manager sees their region and not another, and learn to test it properly, because getting this wrong exposes data. Then optimization: finding what is actually slow, understanding how the engine stores and scans data, and fixing the model rather than the symptom.

The middle is advanced DAX. Participants work through the patterns that answer genuinely hard questions, and learn to read a calculation the way the engine does, which is what makes the difference between guessing and knowing. They work on real problems from their own models that they have not been able to solve.

The final sessions are governance and what is new. Participants work on managing content across an organization, deployment between environments, and the discipline that stops four versions of the truth. They finish with Copilot and Fabric integration, assessed honestly: what it does well, where it is unreliable, and what it means for how a BI team works.
