Microsoft Power BI Intermediate (Level 2)
One dashboard, six data sources, and DAX you have to trust.
The first dashboard works. The second one has to combine three systems that name the same customer differently, and the calculation that was right in isolation returns something strange once someone applies a filter.
This workshop is that step. Participants learn to model across sources that disagree, and to write DAX with an understanding of filter context, which is the concept that separates people who trust their numbers from people who hope.
Analytics and reporting leaders use this where Power BI has taken hold and the models are getting real. HR and learning and development leaders use it where someone self-taught the basics and has hit a wall they cannot name. Participants work on their own models.
Content, datasets, and examples are built around your actual work before delivery. Most groups train live online, and on-site in-person delivery is available by request. This workshop is available by request only, with a three participant minimum, and sits alongside our other data analytics and data literacy workshops.
This course includes
- Live, instructor led workshop delivered across four sessions
- Modeling work across multiple sources using your real data
- DAX taught through filter context rather than as recipes
- Performance diagnosis and Power BI service management
- Digital learning materials and take home reference guides
- Certificate of completion for every participant
Description
The first sessions are modeling at difficulty. Participants combine sources that disagree about the same entity, handle the many-to-many relationship properly rather than working around it, build the date table that almost every real model needs, and learn why a star schema is worth the effort even when it feels like extra work.
The middle is DAX and filter context, which is the heart of the workshop. Participants learn why a measure returns different results in different places, how filters actually flow, and how to write calculations that behave the way they intended rather than the way they guessed. Time intelligence gets proper attention, because comparing to last year is what everyone actually wants.
The final sessions cover the service and performance. Participants learn to share and manage content, set up refresh that works reliably, and diagnose why a report has become slow. They leave with their own model improved and a clear view of what to fix next.
