AI Prompt Engineering for the Workplace

Most people asking AI for help are getting mediocre output and concluding the tool is mediocre. The gap between a vague request and a well-constructed one is enormous, and it is entirely learnable in an afternoon.
The failure mode is what makes this worth training. A bad prompt does not return an error. It returns something confident, plausible, and subtly wrong, and the person who does not know what good looks like accepts it. Then they spend twenty minutes fixing what should have taken two.
HR and learning and development leaders use this after a tool rollout, when licenses are paid for and usage is shallow. Operations managers use it for teams doing repetitive drafting, summarizing, or analysis where the time savings are real and currently unrealized. Participants work on their own recurring tasks, using your approved tools.
Content, scenarios, and examples are built around your actual work and your approved tools before delivery. Most groups train live online, and on-site in-person delivery is available by request. Description
The session opens on why prompts fail, which is almost always missing context rather than wrong wording. Participants learn that the model knows nothing about their organization, their audience, or their standards unless told, and practice supplying that context efficiently. Most immediately improve output on a task they had already given up on.
The middle is technique. Participants work through specifying role and audience, giving examples of what good looks like, asking for a structure they can use, and constraining length and tone. They learn to iterate on a response rather than starting over, which is where most people waste the time they were trying to save.
The last stretch is building something durable. Participants take the tasks they do every week and build reusable prompts for them, tested during the session. They also learn where prompting cannot help: when the model lacks the information, when the task needs accountability, and when verifying the output costs more than doing the work.
