Digital Literacy for the Workplace

Turn the tools your team already uses into a real, teachable skill set

This workshop is built for employers who need a consistent baseline of digital skill across an entire team, not just their most tech confident staff. HR and learning and development leaders use it to shorten onboarding. Operations and department managers use it to bring a group up to a common standard before rolling out a new process or system. It fits any organization whose people were never formally trained on the software they use all day.

The case for it is easy to make internally. Teams that share a baseline generate fewer repeated "how do I" questions, fewer errors in shared documents, and fewer avoidable help desk tickets. New hires reach productive work sooner. And you finally get full return on the Microsoft Office licenses already on your budget.

Content, tools, and examples are customized to your environment before delivery. Most groups train live online, and on-site in-person delivery is available by request. This workshop is available by request only, with a three participant minimum, and sits alongside our other workforce development workshops for teams.

This course includes

Description

Most organizations assume employees already know how to use everyday workplace technology. In practice, a large share of staff are self taught, work around the gaps, and quietly lose hours to tasks no one ever showed them how to do. This workshop closes that gap.

The session is hands on from the first hour. Participants work in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and their own file storage, whether that is OneDrive, SharePoint, or a shared network drive. They practice the skills that drive daily output: organizing and finding files, managing an inbox that does not run their day, formatting a clean document, building a simple spreadsheet, sharing work without version confusion, and collaborating in Teams.

The second half builds the security aware habits that protect your organization. Participants learn to recognize phishing and suspicious links, handle sensitive information correctly, understand what should and should not be shared, and follow your data and access policies. They leave understanding not just how to complete a task, but why careful digital behavior matters to compliance, data protection, and organizational trust. Every exercise runs on a realistic workplace scenario, so participants apply what they learn the next day in their own roles.
