Why DWC

How DWC compares with self-paced courses, bootcamps, and degrees

DWC certificate programs are not self-paced online courses. They are live, instructor-led programs with small classes, real interaction, and hands-on projects, on a part-time schedule built for adults who are working, parenting, or job searching.

Certificate or degree?

Why a certificate program instead of a degree?

Faster, more affordable, and built around the skills employers hire for. The traditional path into a new career is a two-year or four-year degree. For working adults with jobs, families, and financial responsibilities, that path is often not realistic. A certificate program is shorter, costs a fraction of a degree, and lines up directly with the tools and tasks employers list in job postings.

Skills-based hiring keeps growing, and employers increasingly value demonstrated skills alongside, or instead of, academic credentials. You finish a DWC program with a portfolio of real work, a professional certificate issued by Digital Workshop Center, and a career coach helping you take the next step, so you can show what you can do, not just tell.

Programs run part-time so you can keep your job, your family, and your life running while you train, and every class is delivered live online through Zoom, so you can attend from anywhere.

Who these programs are for

Career training programs for adults, built around your life

Most DWC students are not fresh out of high school. They are working adults who watched their industry shift, career changers who cannot stop working for two years, and professionals who know their current skills are not enough for where they want to go next.

What makes DWC different

Live instruction, small classes, real interaction

That is the opposite of most online training, and it is why adults finish DWC programs ready to work.

Taught live, every session

Not pre-recorded, not self-paced, not AI-generated content with a chatbot for support. A real instructor teaches in real time, answers questions, and adjusts the pace.

Small classes, real feedback

Classes are small enough that your instructor knows your name, where you are in the material, and how to give you individual feedback.

AI built into every program

Every program includes the AI tools changing how that job gets done, so you graduate seeing AI as a tool in your field, not a threat to it.

A portfolio, not just a certificate

Hands-on projects in every program become portfolio pieces, and most programs finish with a live Capstone you present and defend.

Career coaching included

Resume development, LinkedIn, portfolio review, interview preparation, and job search strategy, so you are not left on your own at graduation.

Class recordings after every session

Recordings are available after each session for review, so a sick day or a work conflict does not leave you behind.

Getting started

How enrollment works

From first question to first class, an advisor walks you through every step.

  1. Talk to an advisor

Attend a free info session or book a call. An admissions advisor helps you compare programs, schedules, and funding.

  2. Choose your program and funding

Pick a program and a way to pay: WIOA, vocational rehabilitation, employer billing, a scholarship, a payment plan, or a combination.

  3. Apply and enroll

Complete the online application. Admissions confirms your enrollment, your start date, and any paperwork your funding source needs.

  4. Start class

Join your first live session on Zoom after a technology check, with student support, tech support, and career coaching ready when you need them.

Financial aid

Five ways to pay for a certificate program

Many students pay little or nothing out of pocket. Not sure what you qualify for? Our admissions team or your local workforce center can help. All programs are open to students nationwide; find training by location for local workforce funding details.

  • WIOA: federal workforce grants through your local American Job Center can cover tuition for eligible adults, including dislocated workers and low-income job seekers. DWC works directly with case managers on enrollment, documentation, and reporting.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation: state VR agencies fund training for individuals with documented disabilities, and DWC coordinates with your counselor.
  • Employers: DWC invoices your company directly and provides purchase order documentation and certificates of completion. Training a team? Ask about group enrollment.
  • Payment plans: finance tuition in monthly payments through Climb Credit, including a 0% interest option, subject to credit approval.
  • Scholarships: the Tech Skills and Women in Tech scholarships, the Next Mission Scholarship for qualifying veterans and service members, and the Community Heroes Discount for nurses, teachers, and first responders.

AJ

I'm so grateful for the timely support of my Digital Workshop classes when I needed them most. The live online format was perfect for my schedule and helped me update my skill set to get the job I wanted. I was employed before I even finished my last capstone project and what I learned at DWC directly applied to my new position.

Are these certificate programs online or in person?

All certificate programs are delivered live online through Zoom. Classes meet at scheduled times and are taught by an instructor in real time, and you attend from home or anywhere with an internet connection. These are not self-paced, pre-recorded, or on-demand programs.

How long are DWC certificate programs?

Programs run from about 6 weeks to about 6 months, depending on the program, with 36 to 198 hours of live instruction. Each program page lists the exact hours, schedule, and length, and the comparison table on this page shows every program side by side.

Which certificate programs can I finish in about 3 months or less?

The CompTIA A+ Certificate (about 6 weeks), Project Management Certificate (about 6 weeks), CompTIA Network+ Certificate (about 7 weeks), CompTIA Security+ Certificate (about 8 weeks), QuickBooks Bookkeeper Certificate (about 10 weeks), Business Administration Certificate (about 12 weeks), and AI for Business Professionals (13 weeks) programs all finish in about three months or less.

Which certificate programs take about 6 months?

The Data Analytics Certificate, Digital Marketing Certificate, UX Design Certificate, Frontend Web Development Certificate, and Digital Media Production Certificate programs each take about 6 months, and the Advanced Graphic Design Certificate takes about 4.5 months. These longer programs cover a full professional toolset and finish with a portfolio Capstone.

Are the programs part-time or full-time?

All programs are part-time, designed for adults who are working, parenting, or managing other responsibilities. Most programs meet two or three times per week, with additional coursework completed outside of class.

When do classes start?

It depends on the program. Cohort programs, such as Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Project Management, start on set dates listed on each program page. Small live classes start once enrollment fills, typically within 2 to 3 weeks of enrollment; class start timing depends on enrollment and cannot be guaranteed. Blueprint is privately scheduled around you.

Do I need prior experience or a degree?

No degree is required for any DWC certificate program, and most programs are designed for beginners entering the field. A few build on earlier skills; for example, Security+ goes best with networking basics. Each program page lists its prerequisites.

Which programs include an exam voucher or a second credential?

The CompTIA A+ Certificate includes both Core 1 and Core 2 exam vouchers, CompTIA Network+ Certificate and CompTIA Security+ Certificate include their exam vouchers, and AI for Business Professionals includes the Microsoft AB-730 exam voucher. The Digital Marketing Certificate includes the Google Digital Marketing and E-commerce Certificate, and the Project Management Certificate, taught by a PMI Authorized Training Partner, meets the 35 contact hours required for the PMP exam.

Can I get financial aid or WIOA funding?

Yes. DWC certificate programs are eligible for WIOA workforce funding through local American Job Centers, and WIOA can cover tuition for eligible participants. Other options include vocational rehabilitation funding, employer sponsorship, scholarships, and payment plans. See WIOA-approved training programs or contact admissions to check eligibility.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes. The Tech Skills Scholarship and Women in Tech Scholarship are open to all certificate programs, the Next Mission Scholarship takes 80% off tuition for qualifying veterans and service members, and the Community Heroes Discount takes 40% off for nurses, teachers, firefighters, police officers, and first responders. Scholarships are reviewed by an independent scholarship committee.

How is DWC different from self-paced online courses?

DWC programs are taught live by an instructor in real time, in small classes, with hands-on projects and structured critique. Self-paced platforms offer pre-recorded content with no live interaction, so you are on your own when you get stuck. DWC students learn alongside a real instructor and a real class, which keeps them engaged and accountable through to the finish.

Will I have a portfolio when I finish?

Yes. Every program includes hands-on projects that become portfolio pieces you can show employers, built throughout the program as part of the coursework, and most programs finish with a live Capstone.

Is career coaching included?

Yes. Career coaching is included for all certificate program students, covering resume development, LinkedIn, portfolio review, interview preparation, and job search strategy.

What if I miss a class?

Class recordings are available after each session for review, in every program. Your instructor and the student support team can also help you catch up on anything you missed.

Can my employer pay for a certificate program?

Yes. Many students attend with employer sponsorship. DWC provides invoices, purchase order documentation, and certificates of completion for employer-funded enrollment, and organizations can contact our team about enrolling multiple employees.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Every graduate receives a professional certificate issued by Digital Workshop Center documenting the skills and competencies completed. You can use it for job applications, employer verification, and professional development records.

Do you offer certificate programs nationwide?

Yes. All certificate programs are delivered live online and open to students in every state.
