WordPress Advanced classes teach you how to extend the amazing functionality of a WordPress website. You will learn how to customize your theme, add complex plugins, and use more of the content management system features that WordPress has to offer. If you want to manage your own web site and want to bring your own style to the design, this WordPress training is a great class for you.

Overview
In the WordPress Advanced class, you will work closely with your instructor in a small class setting on a test WordPress website while in class. On this site, you can experiment with various plugins and theme configurations that you will be able to apply back at your office. Our instructors will not be able to work on every student’s specific website, but the knowledge you will gain will be able to be immediately applied once you leave class.

Our WordPress Advanced class is hands-on and intensive. We have designed the class to make difficult topics easier to understand. Your instructor, a web development expert, will work with you closely to make sure that you avoid common mistakes in WordPress and apply best practices when possible.
Class Objectives
Upon successful completion of the WordPress Advanced class, students will learn how to:
- Review WordPress as a Content Management System
- Customize the appearance — diving into the Customizer in depth
- Personalize your site with advanced WordPress features
- Manage menus and widgets
- Explore custom theme development
- Understand plugins, what are some popular plugins, what’s the “plugin repository”
- How to decide if a plugin is “good”, and why “good” matters
- Review premium plugins and the pros and cons
- Using Gutenberg vs Classic Editor
Pre-requisites
- Basic digital literacy including file management is required.
- WordPress Beginners (Level 1) or equivalent knowledge is required.

When can I start?
The average length to complete the a certificate program is 6 months. Total length may vary based on the pace in which you schedule your classes.
Each certificate program allows one year to be completed, but, depending on your pace of learning and skill level, you may move as fast or as slow as you like within that time frame. Veteran students may have certain restrictions on total program length.
Each program is comprised of several stand-alone classes listed above and a Capstone project. Once you have completed all the necessary course work, you will earn your certificate.

Each Certificate Program is comprised of course work and a comprehensive Capstone Project.
Support and mentoring a huge part of all of our full length programs. Your instructor will be there as your mentor every step of the way through the program.
