Microsoft Outlook Beginners (Level 1)
Your inbox is running your day. That is reversible.
Outlook is the first thing your team opens and the last thing they close, and almost none of them have had an hour of instruction on it. So the inbox becomes a to-do list, the calendar becomes a record of what already happened, and every commitment lives in a message somebody has to remember to find.
This class is about control. Not inbox zero as a philosophy, but the specific mechanics: folders and rules that sort mail before you see it, search that finds a message in seconds, and a way of turning an email into a task so it stops depending on memory.
HR and learning and development leaders use this in onboarding, where it pays back immediately. Operations managers use it where email volume is drowning a team. Most participants find at least one thing they have been doing manually for years that Outlook has always done for them.
Content, examples, and exercises are built around your own files and workflows before delivery. Most groups train live online, and on-site in-person delivery is available by request. This class is available by request only, with a three participant minimum, and sits alongside our other Microsoft Office training.
This course includes
- Live, instructor led class delivered across two sessions
- Hands on work in your own mailbox and calendar
- Rules and search taught as the two biggest time recoveries
- Turning email into tracked tasks so commitments stop depending on memory
- Digital learning materials and take home reference guides
- Certificate of completion for every participant
Description
The first session is the inbox. Participants learn to organize mail so it stays organized, build rules that sort before they see it, and use search properly, which almost nobody does and which alone recovers a surprising amount of time. They learn the difference between filing and finding, and why one of those is mostly wasted effort.
The middle is the calendar. Scheduling that checks availability rather than guessing, meeting invitations that carry enough information to be useful, recurring meetings that do not spiral, and using categories and views so a week is readable at a glance.
The final session is tasks and communication. Turning an email into a task so a commitment stops living in a message, flags and follow-ups that actually resurface, and writing mail that gets read and answered: subject lines that say what they mean, and a request that is findable in the first two lines.
