Microsoft Excel Advanced (Level 3)
Stop rebuilding the same report every single month.
There is a point where someone is genuinely good at Excel and still losing two days a month, because the skill they are missing is not another function. It is automation, and it is the difference between a file and a tool.
This workshop is that step. Participants learn to connect to a source and reshape data on the way in, so the monthly report refreshes rather than gets rebuilt. They learn to automate the sequences they repeat, and to build something a colleague can use without breaking.
Operations, finance, and analytics leaders use this where a capable person is the bottleneck because everything routes through their spreadsheet. It also answers the question nobody asks: when Excel is no longer the right tool, which is the honest lead-in to Microsoft Power BI Beginners.
Content, datasets, and examples are built around your actual work before delivery. Most groups train live online, and on-site in-person delivery is available by request. This workshop is available by request only, with a three participant minimum, and sits alongside our other data analytics and data literacy workshops.
This course includes
- Live, instructor led workshop delivered in two sessions
- Automation built on the reports you actually produce monthly
- Data connection and transformation that refreshes rather than rebuilds
- Techniques for validation, protection, and error handling
- Digital learning materials and take home reference guides
- Certificate of completion for every participant
Description
The first session is data connection and shaping. Participants learn to pull from files, folders, and systems, transform the data on the way in, and refresh rather than repeat. Most have been doing this by hand every month and are visibly annoyed to discover how long it takes to set up once.
The second session is automation and robustness. Participants automate the sequences they repeat, and learn to build a workbook that survives other people using it: validation that stops bad entries, protection that guards the formulas, and structure a colleague can follow. They work on error handling, because a tool that fails silently is worse than one that fails loudly.
The workshop closes on limits. Participants learn the signals that a workbook has outgrown Excel, including size, multiple users, and refresh frequency, and what the alternatives actually cost. Leaving with a clear answer to that is often worth the day on its own.
