In Google Analytics for Beginners, you will learn how to analyze your website and app traffic so you can find problems, understand your customers, and make smarter decisions. To make sense of your traffic, you need to know how to read the data an analytics tool collects. Google Analytics tracks visitors from every source, including search engines, social networks, direct visits, and referring sites. This hands-on class helps you avoid the frustration of guessing by teaching current best practices, guided by an experienced analytics and marketing instructor.

Google Analytics has changed a great deal. The current version, GA4, replaced the retired Universal Analytics and works in a fundamentally different way. It is built on an event based model rather than sessions and pageviews, bounce rate has given way to engagement rate, the actions you care about are now called key events, and the platform includes privacy and consent controls plus AI assisted insights that did not exist before. That means the analyst's job is to decide what to measure, configure it correctly, and turn the results into decisions, not just to read a dashboard.

You will start from scratch and work with your instructor through the full lifecycle of measurement, from setting up a property and data stream to reading reports, building custom analyses, and acting on what you find. You will define key events, explore acquisition and engagement reports, build funnel and path explorations, create audiences, and connect GA4 to Google Ads. The class is hands-on and intensive, and it is designed to make difficult topics easier to understand so you leave able to use GA4 on your own and avoid the common mistakes that lead to bad data.
