Description

Administrative, operations, and office support roles run on Microsoft Office. Job postings ask for Excel, and what they usually mean is PivotTables, lookup functions, and clean reporting that does not break. The DWC Business Administration Certificate is built to produce that level of proficiency, and to prove it with a recognized credential.

The program is delivered as private, one-on-one live instruction with a working professional as your instructor. There is no group pace to keep up with and no recorded video to watch alone. Across 83 hours and seven modules you cover business communication and leadership, Microsoft Word through advanced document production and mail merge, Microsoft Excel from fundamentals through macros and PivotTables, Microsoft PowerPoint through advanced presentation design, Microsoft Outlook for professional email and scheduling, Google Workspace for cloud collaboration, and a capstone project with career mentorship.

The curriculum is mapped to the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification pathway and covers the tested objectives for all four Associate exams and both Expert exams. Graduates receive the DWC Business Administration Certificate, issued as a higher education professional certificate under the State of Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools.

Because instruction is private, you choose your start date. There is no cohort to wait for.

Overview

Business Administration Certificate Training Online: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and MOS Certification Prep

This is an 83 hour career certificate program for adults who need demonstrated proficiency in the tools that administrative, operations, and business support roles actually run on. It is delivered 100% live online as private, one-on-one instruction, with occasional on-site delivery available on the Colorado Front Range.

The program opens with business soft skills, because communication, leadership, and project coordination are the context the software operates in. From there the Microsoft Office modules go deep. Word covers document creation and formatting, tables and graphics, page setup and proofing, then advances into styles and themes, Quick Parts, text flow, templates, complex mail merges, and macros. Excel receives the most time of any application in the program, moving from basic worksheets, formulas, and absolute versus relative references through advanced logical, text, date, and lookup functions, charting, data organization, macros, form controls, formula auditing, workbook linking, and importing and exporting data, and finishing with a dedicated PivotTable and PivotChart block on grouping, filtering, and formatting large data sets.

PowerPoint covers presentation building, graphics and media, animation and transitions, and delivery preparation, then advances into design templates, slide masters, custom animations, and collaboration. Outlook covers email composition and management, folder organization, contacts, appointments, meeting scheduling, tasks, and notes. Google Workspace adds cloud based collaboration for organizations that run on both platforms. The final module is a capstone project, presented to and critiqued by your instructor, paired with mentorship on job market trends, interviews, and finding work in business administration.

The curriculum is structured against the Microsoft Office Specialist certification pathway and covers the objectives for MO-110 Word Associate, MO-210 Excel Associate, MO-310 PowerPoint Associate, MO-410 Outlook Associate, MO-111 Word Expert, and MO-211 Excel Expert. Exams are optional, are administered through Certiport, and are not included in tuition.

Classes are available by request; there is no public schedule posted. Contact DWC to arrange a session for your team.
