Description

Moving into web development on your own usually means video libraries, half-finished tutorials, and getting stuck with no one to ask. The Frontend Web Development Certificate replaces that with live, private instruction: every session meets in real time with an active developer who can look at your code, explain why it is or is not working, and pace the material to you. Because the program is scheduled privately, you are not waiting for a cohort to fill. Your start date is flexible, your program is guaranteed to run, and your session schedule is built around your work and life.

Over six modules you learn the full frontend stack that junior developer roles screen for: HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap for responsive layout; JavaScript for interactive behavior; React, Node.js, and Webpack for modern component-based development; Git for version control; database and MERN stack fundamentals; and AI-assisted development workflows integrated throughout. Portfolio projects run through every module, and the program closes with a live Capstone presentation and critique. Career coaching, mentoring, tech support, and access to the DWC micro-internship and alumni networks are included.

Overview

Frontend Web Development Certificate: Live Online Training in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React

This certificate program is built for working adults moving into a web development role, and for designers, marketers, and business owners who want to write the code behind the sites they work with. The program is delivered in a private instruction format: instead of waiting for a scheduled cohort, you choose a start date that works for you, your program is guaranteed to run, and sessions are scheduled around your work and life. Typical pacing is three sessions per week over approximately six months, all live online with an active developer as your instructor.

The curriculum follows the order that real frontend work flows. Modules 1 and 2 cover the core languages of the web: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and responsive design, then JavaScript, from values and control flow through the DOM, functions, and data structures. Module 3 introduces the professional toolset: Git and version control, the command line, browser developer tools, JavaScript libraries, data storage fundamentals, and AI tools for web development.

Modules 4 and 5 move into the modern stack: Node.js, npm, and Webpack, then React with hooks, components, and APIs, followed by full-stack fundamentals with MongoDB, Express, and the MERN stack. Module 6 turns the work into a career asset: portfolio refinement, job market preparation, developer interview practice, and a live Capstone presentation with critique.

Start dates are flexible and enrollment is open year-round. The program is eligible for WIOA and DVR workforce funding, and no prior coding experience is required. Contact DWC admissions or attend a free info session to plan your start date and schedule.
