Daniel Walker

Daniel Walker - Instructor at the Digital Workshop CenterDaniel has over 15 years of server and client-side web and mobile development experience. He has built applications for a wide range of industries including payment processing, ship building, utilities, oil & gas and defense. His technical experience spans a wide range of technologies including, Java/JEE, .Net, Android, Ruby on Rails and JavaScript. Daniel is also a U.S. Air Force veteran, holds a top-secret security clearance, and served as a weather forecaster and software developer for the Air Force Weather Agency (AFWA). Projects since leaving the military include leading the development of an award-winning distributed nuclear weapons tracking system for the U.S. Air Force. These days he commutes by bicycle to DataSplice, LLC in Old Town Fort Collins where he is focused on client-side offline-first web and mobile application development with JavaScript for civilian and government customers.

Daniel is an active member of the Fort Collins Internet Professionals (FCIP), and NoCo JavaScript meetup groups. On the weekends you can expect to see him struggling up one of the local mountains be it on foot or on a bike. This summer he completed Ride the Rockies: a one-week 450 mile tour of Colorado, and the Double Triple Bypass: a two-day 240 mile ride across Colorado’s three highest mountain passes (for a total of 23,000ft of climbing).

Daniel lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife Tiffani, two dogs, two cats and horse.
