QuickBooks Beginners Desktop

QuickBooks Beginners Desktop classes will teach you how to manage the bookkeeping necessary for your small business. In this three-part training course, your instructor will show you how to navigate through QuickBooks, create a new company file, and customizing the software to your needs. Presented in partnership with the Small Business Development Center, our QuickBooks classes are a tremendous first step towards managing your own books and making smarter business decisions.

QuickBooks Desktop is taught by a certified expert in a small class environment. Each student will work within their own sample company file to be able to learn how to build a QuickBooks file the right way from the ground up.
Enrolling in an QuickBooks Desktop classes at the Digital Workshop Center will take your business management skills to a whole new level. QuickBooks Desktop is hands-on and intensive and we have designed the class to make difficult topics easier to understand. Your instructor, a QuickBooks expert, will work with you closely to make sure that you avoid common mistakes in QuickBooks Desktop and apply best practices when possible.
Upon successful completion of the QuickBooks Desktop Beginners class, students will be able to:
- Setup a new company file
- Manage chart of accounts
- Create custom item lists
- Process common transactions including invoices, sales receipts, payments, and credit cards
- Manage bank transactions including checks
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Review accounts payable & accounts receivable
- Analyze financials with reports
Note this class does not cover payroll or inventory in QuickBooks
- Basic digital literacy including file management is required
- Some experience with accounting vocabulary is helpful but not required.
- It is recommended that you have QuickBooks Desktop installed on your home or work computer before the start of your first class
